Double-sided prism guide

The double-sided prism guide of the feed chain is completely play-free. The accurate workpiece transport that this achieves is a prerequisite for precise cutting results. The specially harmonized alloys also guarantee a long service life of the feed system.

Moving blades: Unlimited flexibility

In terms of ripping, changing timber widths, qualities and defects mean average wood losses of 8% with a standard fixed arbor setup. The RaimannLine moving blade technology ensures efficient use of the raw material. With one or two automatically adjustable saw blades, you can adapt your VarioRip individually to any rough board.

Optimizing timber yield in this way reduces your material and warehousing costs significantly. In other words, wood optimization means cost minimization.

The almost unlimited possible combinations of fixed and movable saw blades also decisively increase the flexibility of your production, thus enabling just-in-time and small batch production.

SafetyPlus provides optimal protection for the machine operator. An additional Kevlar curtain complements the conventional splinter curtain. This optimally seals the danger zone. This patented safety feature is standard with all WEINIG rip saws.

Intelligent ripping? No problem with a WEINIG

So sieht Zufriedenheit aus: Das Team von Lange Bros. Woodwork

In 1932, brothers John and Rudy took their German grandfather’s knowledge of wood as a raw material to Wisconsin. Today, the family business Lange Bros. Woodwork is one of the premier addresses for high-quality interior fittings in the USA.

When it comes to refined and sophisticated finishes, the Lange Bros. Woodwork team can provide the inspiration. The result is impressive reference projects throughout the country. The company has a particularly excellent reputation as a restoration specialist. With a dynamic pair of siblings at the helm, the new generation of the family is currently on a growth trajectory. The company is currently in the process of optimizing and expanding its moulding and cutting operations. This included the acquisition of a rip saw. The chosen model was a VarioRip 310 with infeed automation. Rory Lange explains why the saw had to come from WEINIG: “When we were looking for a rip saw, we were particularly concerned about reliability, quality control and simple operation. The VarioRip 310 has precisely these benefits.” He was particularly impressed by the convenient adjustment of ripped widths to meet changing requirements and the laser measuring system that helps the operator to achieve optimal wood yield with minimal waste. Another of his favorite features on the VarioRip 310 is the lineal counter, which automatically stops the machine when a preset production volume is reached. Rudy Lange: “It is exactly innovative technology like this that will allow us toembrace the future.”

There is room in the smallest hut

Networking specialist Son Stefan has an overview of the whole system

In the timber-rich Italian Puster valley, there are numerous carpenters. This makes differentiation important. Weissteiner does this with a clear strategy that also takes account of the cramped conditions.

Many machines, little room – such is the situation in the Weissteiner father and son workshop.. Despite this, there are never any traffic jams. The completely modernized production facility is a strong process-oriented system with optimal interfaces. Carefully assembled to drive forward the specialization in high-quality solid wood panels. Stefan Weissteiner: "It was important for us to be able to receive everything from a single source and that the machines are equipped with the same user interface," he recalls.

The central component of the system is an OptiCut C 700 cross-cut saw, which performs the heavy cutting. A VarioRip 310 M multi-blade rip saw is responsible for splitting the boards. With its two adjustable saw blades, the machine significantly improves wood recovery. An OptiCut S 50 push-feed saw cuts the lamellae for the solid wood panels. The machine is integrated into the CAD/CAM software and receives all parts lists via the office. A bar code printer ensures perfect part tracking in subsequent processing. Gluing is performed by a ProfiPress L 2500 with high frequency technology. "The compact design of the machines is ideal for our little workshop," says the senior partner. "Unlike previously, we can now also perform glued butt joints and create panels almost free from offsetting." On the market, the WEINIG machine concept has opened up new opportunities for the operation. Other carpenters are interested in solid wood panels but production is only possible with a state-of-the-art machine park. A particular advantage is the flexibility in terms of thickness, length and width and, above all, production in batch sizes of 1.
