WEINIG Group at LIGNA 2025: Complete solutions from a single source - the most comprehensive portfolio in solid wood processing
05/27/2025This year, the company is celebrating its 120th anniversary: 120 years of innovation, quality and reliability. “For us, this anniversary is not a time to look back, but a time to move forward. Together with our customers, we aim to shape the future of woodworking - powerful, nearby and future-oriented,” says Baumbusch.
Reorganization of the WEINIG project business: WEINIG SYSTEM SOLUTIONS
The establishment of WEINIG System Solutions as an independent, legal entity means that WEINIG now offers the entire range of system solutions from a single source, with one responsible partner. For projects, customers can choose between a highly flexible system integration approach, as practiced by H.I.T. Maschinenbau for years, and a general contractor approach, which WEINIG has successfully established - turnkey, at a fixed price, with a predefined schedule. “WEINIG System Solutions gives us the strength, flexibility and expertise to be the only provider to cover the entire project cycle from a single source and to operate the project business independently,” explains Michael Bock, Managing Director of WVSG. Supported by H.I.T.'s experience in the system integration approach and its international presence, WEINIG is thus the preferred partner for customers worldwide.
WEINIG WOOD SAVING SYSTEMS: Technology for maximum output - intelligent solutions along the entire process chain
Our R&D projects are consistently geared towards the requirements of our customers - along the entire process chain.
Under WEINIG Wood Saving Systems, the company is setting new technological standards. With solutions such as the SOLID SYSTEM RIPSCAN, a compact and AI-supported optimization line for increasing wood yield, and SERVOSHAPE, an innovative contour planing solution for conical lamellas at high feed speeds, WEINIG is responding to current challenges such as material shortages, a lack of qualified personnel and increasing efficiency expectations. “Our developments are aimed at greater yield, flexibility and resource conservation. This makes economic and ecological sense - and is in high demand from our customers worldwide,” says Dr. Georg Hanrath, Chief Technical Officer of the WEINIG Group.
WEINIG SERVOSHAPE - conical lamella - is a new, pioneering planing technology that makes it possible to produce conical lamellas, for example, at feed speeds of over 80 m/min - with high precision, in throughfeed and wood-saving. By turning the lamellas later in the process, the wood expansion is maximized.
In order to use the natural raw material wood as efficiently as possible, we have further developed our feeding system for finger jointing lines with part orientation. Manual feeding and manual alignment of the parts is no longer necessary, the quality remains consistently high and individual sorting criteria such as forest edge, visible side or knots are automatically taken into account - for maximum efficiency and optimum utilization of each workpiece.
The part orientation enables uniform alignment of all parts in front of the finger jointing line and thus maximizes the timber yield, as only one side of the new log needs to be processed.
WEINIG is also consistently closing gaps in its product portfolio. With the new SOLID SCAN T 5000, the company is moving into high-speed sorting at 200 boards/min especially for sawmills. The new product will be on display at the H.I.T. stand in Hall 25.
In the window sector, the process chain has been extended by a further step - the SOLID FINISH RF 200 (formerly Stähle-Hess) produces high-quality surfaces in the window sector. With the Rotofinish system, wood fibers are cut using controlled cross-sanding - without cross-scratches. In combination with an ideally prepared, planed surface from WEINIG, this is an unbeatable system for obtaining evenly coated surfaces and reducing or eliminating the effort involved in intermediate sanding to a minimum.
WEINIG's other innovations under the collective term POWERSET include an autonomous production cell that fully automates profile changes - a decisive step towards increasing efficiency and overcoming the shortage of skilled workers. The intelligent solution takes care of all settings, from tool positioning to pressure and guide elements, machine cover independently.
The SOLID ROBOT FEED from WEINIG is a fully automatic PICK&PLACE solution for feeding the SOLID JOINT HS finger jointing lines, for example. The SOLID ROBOT FEED works constantly at up to 75 parts per minute - reliably and without pauses.
New standards in joinery and panel processing
In Hall 13, Essetre will be presenting a real world premiere with the Techno Saw: the ideal saw for timber frame builders and packers. The CNC-controlled saw blade offers the possibility of extremely fast cuts, including angular and cross-cuts. And best of all: the patented gripper systems allow components with lengths of 6 meters up to 20 millimeters to be processed precisely.
The Techno Multiwall sets new standards in panel processing and is ideal for processing CLT, curved beams and timber studs. In addition to its flexibility, it impresses with its robust design and the guide rails integrated in the processing table for the processing portal. In addition, the integrated butterfly turner saves valuable space in the hall. With the new processing unit presented for the first time, panels can also be processed from below - completely without a pit.
HOLZ-HER: Innovation driver for flexible and automated panel processing
The Group also presents pioneering technologies with HOLZ-HER, which has been positioning itself as a driver of innovation in the panel sector for years. “Our solutions offer the craft sector real added value: time savings, fewer errors, a better overview - and all this with maximum flexibility,” emphasizes Robert Terzer, Business Unit Manager WEINIG Panel.
With the new Glu Jet 725 PUR PRO technology, HOLZ-HER is taking edge banding to a whole new level and setting a new benchmark for flawless furniture appearance and maximum flexibility - both in the craft sector and in industrial production. A key highlight is the integrated vacuum technology: it specifically extracts air and thus moisture - the natural reaction partner of the PUR adhesive - from the adhesive environment, thus delaying its curing within the machine to a minimum. The adhesive therefore remains ready for use in the system for up to one working week. Even a few minutes of use require only minimal cleaning work - this is completed in around two minutes. A sensor continuously monitors the negative pressure and automatically reactivates the integrated vacuum pump - even when the machine is switched off.
The EPICON 7135 Space Saver from HOLZ-HER is a compact 5-axis CNC solution with impressive performance and minimal space requirements. The 360° access concept enables optimum maintenance and material handling. Despite its compact design, the EPICON impresses with a powerful milling spindle, a precise 5-axis head and a choice of table designs - ideal for the highest demands in furniture construction and interior design. The pre-assembled delivery also minimizes installation time at the customer's premises.
The MagnetX automatic table sets new standards in CNC machining and combines maximum flexibility with precision in a pioneering system for modern craft and industrial businesses. A key advantage of the new system is its flexibility thanks to the suction cup base with integrated chassis. These allow the suction cups to be changed quickly, adapted to different workpiece sizes and shapes. Whether standard suction cups, special shapes or frame clamps - the consoles create a uniform and flexible platform that can be used in both automatic and manual mode.
Automation is the key to the future of woodworking. With the Store-Pick and the Epicon cell, HOLZ-HER is presenting two new individual automation solutions for process optimization and increased efficiency. With the EPICON RoboCell, HOLZ-HER offers an innovative processing cell for companies that rely on automation and maximum precision. The solution impresses with an additional linear seventh axis, which enables the robot to flexibly handle large workpieces across several work areas - ideal for fully automatic pendulum placement. For future-oriented furniture production, HOLZ-HER is presenting a new way of automatically unloading nesting machines with the “store-pick solution”. The manipulator integrated into the STORE-MASTER automatic panel storage system is given new possibilities thanks to the camera functions. The finished parts can now be removed directly from the unloading belt without any loss of production time, stacked intelligently and sorted automatically for the next production process. The WEINIG master computer is used to prepare and control the system.
WEINIG invests - a strong sign for the future
Investments in new locations - such as in Statesville (USA) for the production of automation solutions for North America - and the soon-to-be-completed construction of the new central logistics and production center in Tauberbischofsheim are driving WEINIG's international expansion and efficiency forward. The expanded HOLZ-HER site in Voitsberg (Austria) is now also one of the Group's most modern production facilities.
